Important Questions and Answers (FAQ)

You have decided to spend your holiday at the Bannwaldsee campsite? That makes us happy and we are sure that you will feel at home with us.

In the following we have compiled some important information, interesting facts and tips for you, so that you can prepare for your camping trip in the best possible way.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact our staff by e-mail or telephone.

A

Arrival - Can we arrive after 6pm?

Please note the barrier opening times when you arrive. Please understand that we strive for a significant reduction in traffic on our campsite, especially during the high season, during the midday quiet period. Your children will thank you if they can use all the roads for themselves without being disturbed by vehicles during this time. Due to the limited parking space in front of the campsite, we are unable to implement a general closing of the barriers. Nevertheless, we ask all present guests not to move their vehicles during the midday rest period.

Your pitch is guaranteed to be available from 1pm. If you arrive after 18.00 hrs, please contact us.

You can arrive with us daily until 9 pm in the main season. Our registration closes at 8 pm, but after that our groundsman is still there for you until 9 pm. Next to our office door you will find a bell where you can reach him. If he is out and about on the course, it may take a little while before he has time for you. We will do the official check-in the next morning in the office. Then you will also get your guest cards for the stay.

B

Bakery - Where do I get my bread in the morning?

In our “Schwangauer Bauernmarkt”, located directly on the campsite, we bake fresh for you every day. Please check the opening times on site. It is not usually necessary to order in advance.

There is also a small selection of things you need for breakfast (butter, margarine, jam, milk, eggs, coffee) as well as daily newspapers, magazines, toothpaste, various batteries and more. Batteries and more are available.

Barbecue and open fire - Are we allowed to barbecue on the campsite?

We have no objection to barbecuing with commercially available equipment. Please pay attention to the wind direction and your neighbourhood. Open fires are prohibited by the police due to the risk of forest fires and for nature conservation reasons. Further information is available at the reception or on arrival.

C

Check-out - What do I have to consider when leaving?

It is essential that you check out personally at reception on the day of departure. This way we can close the registration system cleanly and say goodbye to you again personally.

Culinary - Can I eat out on the campsite?

Should the caravan kitchen ever remain cold, the following culinary offers are available to our guests:

• Restaurant Bannwaldsee
• Bannwaldseestadl with beer garden and pizzeria (self-service), food also to take away
• Own fish smokehouse near Bannwaldsee lake

In the restaurant we generally recommend to reserve a seat!

D

Departure - Why do we have to leave the campsite by 12.00 noon on the day of departure (rental accommodation by 10.00 a.m.)?

In order to ensure that our arrivals and departures run smoothly, it is necessary that the pitch or rental accommodation is vacated in the morning so that it can be occupied again in the afternoon.

In the low season, you have the option of extending your stay until 5.30 p.m. at the latest for a fee (provided we have enough free places and your place is not pre-booked). Please understand that we can only decide whether we have enough free places one day before your departure at the earliest.

Attention early travellers: If you would like to leave before our reception time (8.00 a.m.), we recommend that you pay the evening before. The barrier opens at 7.00 am.

Dogs - Are we allowed to bring our four-legged friend(s)?

Dogs are welcome here!

Pets do not have to stay at home, as is often the case at other campsites. An additional fee will be charged for your dogs.
However, we ask you to be considerate of the other guests. Our staff will be happy to inform you about the nearest dog run or possibilities where you can take your dog for a walk.
Unfortunately, your four-legged friend is not allowed to swim in the lake for nature conservation reasons (Ostallgäu District Office). However, the run of the Bannwaldsee (Mühlberger Ach) is available for your dog to cool down. In addition, two dog showers (with hot water) are available for your four-legged friend, should your dog have rolled around in the remains of a happy cow.

Following rules must be observed

Drinking water - Where can I take drinking water?

Drinking water fountains are available throughout the campsite for you to draw water from.
We kindly ask you to use only drinking water and not to wash any equipment or dishes.

E

Emergency - What do I do in an emergency?

If you need medical assistance, please contact the reception staff. We will be happy to help you get a doctor’s appointment.
In case of emergencies, we will notify the ambulance and the emergency doctor.
We are available for you around the
clock in case of an emergency. If the reception is closed, please press the emergency bell next to the reception door, which you can use to reach us at any time and also open the barrier for you. Getting a six-pack of beer at the petrol station is not an emergency!

Fastening - Can I get pegs in the ground?

On most pitches you will find gravel lawn. Here we recommend so-called ground pegs.
On our tent meadows you have green grass as a subsoil. It should be possible to drive in any standard herring here. A hammer for hammering in the pegs should always be with you!

Schwangau with its clear lakes and streams is the ideal destination for a fishing holiday. Groups and camping clubs are welcome at our campsite outside the main season and winter season. Let us make you an individual offer for this. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate larger youth groups.

M

For pitch bookings, there is no minimum length of stay except for the high season and winter season. This applies in particular to offers which must be booked in advance, but which thereby offer a considerable price advantage.

Of course, we also allow you the pleasure of spending your holidays together with friends and to really enjoy your holiday. However, our staff and our security

We will then complete your registration and issue your guest cards. If the pitch is already free and ready for occupancy, you can move into your booked pitch. If the pitch is not yet available, we will offer you a suitable parking space on the campsite free of charge. Please stay close to the reception, we will inform you immediately as soon as your pitch is ready for occupancy.

T

Our pitches do not have a cable connection. In order to be able to receive your daily TV programme, you must therefore have a so-called SAT dish with you. The summit cross on the Tegelberg is a good guide for the orientation.

Toddlers and kids - Is there anything for our children?

Children are especially welcome at Camping Bannwaldsee! Infants up to 5 years of age therefore pay no fee for their stay with us. For children from 6 to 15 years, the reduced youth rate applies. The age of the children on the day of arrival is decisive! In addition to our large pirate playground and our smaller playground by the lake, we offer a varied childcare service for our youngest campers during the high season. Here they can jump on the trampoline, do handicrafts or play community games. During
the Christmas holidays, St. Nikolaus comes to visit and torchlight walks are organised in
summer as well as in winter.

Please understand that children in particular want to let off steam during their holidays. The campsite is the best place to do this. If you prefer a quieter place, please let us know when booking so that we can take this into consideration.

For toddlers and babies, our campsite has so-called baby washrooms, a changing table and even a bathtub. There you can comfortably change, wash and dress your little ones. There is also our special children’s washing area; a great experience!

Tourist Information - Where is the nearest Tourist Information?

The Schwangau Tourist Information is located in the Schlossbrauhaus Schwangau. There you can get all the information and tips for your stay in Schwangau and the surrounding area.
You can find out about upcoming events in the Schwangau municipality and also book them there.

Tourist tax - When and why do I have to pay tourist tax?

The municipality of Schwangau obliges us to charge a visitor’s tax in addition to the accommodation fees. You will find these rates in the current camping price list. Please note, however, that these details are always subject to change, as these fees can also change at any time.

The municipality uses the spa tax to finance numerous services and offers that would not be available in a place with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants. The spa tax is used for the production, administration and maintenance of the public facilities and events provided. Without the spa tax, the maintenance of the green beach and the spa park, the toilet facilities, hiking and cycling paths, the spa concerts and many other services would be inconceivable.

With your guest card, you can use the public bus free of charge, which departs directly from the entrance to the campsite. In addition, the guest card gives you some price advantages. You can find out exactly what these are here: (Link municipality Schwangau)

Discounts are available for severely disabled persons with a degree of disability of at least 80%. Please present your severely disabled pass upon arrival so that we can take the corresponding discounts into account. An accompanying person (ID required!) is also exempt from the spa tax.

W

WIFI - Is there a free access on the campsite?

A free WIFI network is available throughout our campsite.
Here is a connection guide for you: Free WIFI
Please understand that the entire network tends to be overloaded, especially during the peak season. This can lead to slower connections in some cases. We are always trying to expand and improve our free wifi network for you.
If you would like to print out tickets for events or guided tours, you are welcome to do so on site. Our reception staff will be happy to help you.

Enjoy your well-deserved holidays without smartphone & Co. for a change.

Wishes - Are wishes always taken into account?

We will always listen to your wishes. The site management will do its utmost to meet your wishes. However, we cannot give you a guarantee that your wishes will be implemented. We ask for your understanding.

If you have a complaint, if items are defective or if something is not running to your satisfaction, then do not hesitate and come to us. Your well-being and satisfaction is our greatest concern!

We would like to constantly improve for you and are grateful for every suggestion and tip from you.
